4th of July weekend!

So it has been awhile since I have blogged...so I thought I better catch up! The 4th of July weekend was a wonderful weekend. Lots of time with family and lots of great fireworks! My cousin and his family came down from Wichita Kansas and spent the weekend with us at my sister's house in Wheeler. We took our 4-wheelers over there and so did my dad. Let me tell you...the kids LOVED riding the 4-wheelers with us. My youngest nephew Houston rode with me quite a bit and all he would say was "FASTER FASTER"!! He is gonna be a speed demon! Justin enjoyed riding with Courtlynn on her 4-wheeler....those 2 were trading off driving so often that we thought they had figured out a way to switch drivers while they were still moving!! LOL
We had a GREAT fireworks display. It was a lot of fun to watch them being set off (the guys were setting them off) because it was raining. All the kids & women were sitting under the canopy out of the rain and they would set one off and then we would all stick our head out from under the canopy and watch the fireworks! I am sure it was quite comical to watch us but everyone enjoyed it!!! Here are a few pics of some of the fireworks!
So my niece Sierra just turned 2 and my sister had said that she had been scared of the fireworks that they had been setting off in the evenings. We were all concerned that she would be scared that night but boy did she surprise us. She LOVED the fireworks. She was watching everyone light them and would walk right up to where they were going off. That evening, she wanted to hold a sparkler. My sister lit one for her and off she went with it. She LOVED the sparklers!!!
The next day my parents came back over and we all got to hang out and visit! The kids played in the water and rode the 4-wheelers. Sierra loved her new swimsuit...and oh was she CUTE!!

"Burning of the Bricks"

So there is this thing in Pampa that they do every year called "Burning of the Bricks". A bunch of cars come out and do burn-outs....see who can do the best burn-out, most smoke, etc. This was the first year that we have made it over to watch them burn-out. There is also a BIG car show. I really enjoy looking at old cars. My dad got into cars awhile back and started restoring them. He is the proud owner of a 1930 Model A and a 1932 (I think it is a sedan). Anyways, we have always gone to car shows and I really do enjoy it. The burn-outs were really pretty cool. This was my favorite car to watch.

There were all sorts of cars out there doing it...old cars, new cars, pieces of JUNK (LOL). There was a car that we were watching....the guy driving it pulled up, put the car in the place it needed to be and then he got out of the drivers side (I looked at Jerald and said...What is this guy doing??) he walked around and got in the passenger seat and then I noticed that there was a young girl that had slid over into the driver seat. From what I could tell, she looked about 13-14. She did the burn-out and actually did pretty good. Here is a pic of her doing the burn-out!
There was also a little Mazda truck that pulled up to do a burn-out, I looked at Jerald and said "Is this guy REALLY gonna attempt this, he is gonna make a FOOL of himself". WOW Check out this video:

I LOVE THIS CAR:
Here are a few more pics of some of the really cool cars that were there:

This next car is what they call a "Rat Rod" basically it is a rusted out POS....for some reason this is the next car that my dad wants to do....
Anyways...we had a really good time....if anything it was nice to get out and go do something!!! This Saturday it is off to the MudBogs....maybe I will blog again with more pics after this weekend!!! One last video...be sure to watch the smoke!

Memorial Day

Well...for anyone who knows me very well, knows what my Memorial Day entails. I usually spend the Saturday before at the cemetery with my mom helping her mark Veteran graves. It is an all-day affair as there are over 1100 graves that we have to mark. I have been helping her for about 16 years so it has become sort of a Mother/Daughter Day! We know that it is our day to spend together with nobody else around. I LOVE helping her! We have started to have issues in the last few years....well actually since I have been married to Jerald.....MEN....always causing problems! LOL Jerald always makes plans for that weekend and then we argue because I can't go on Saturday. Same argument every year. Well this year, it all started the same way.....He made plans to go to Lake Altus on Friday and I told him that I couldn't go till Sunday. BLAH BLAH! Long story short....I realized that I could go help her on Thursday & Friday since I am not working. Anyways....I went to Borger Thursday afternoon and we worked a little Thursday evening and then we worked all day Friday to finish up! I got back to Canadian and we loaded up and left for the lake! Finally....everyone HAPPY!! :)

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

We had a wonderful weekend at the lake. It is truly a beautiful lake and one of these trips, I am going to go explore some more and see what other things we can find! All the kids had a blast jumping off of a small cliff (it was HUGE to them).

We had some thunderstorms that showed up all weekend but it sure made for some pretty skies.
Overall, the weather wasn't too bad....not too hot but not too cool either!

Everyone had a great time and the kids were exhausted in the evenings...they played hard all day and slept really good at night! Here is Courtlynn & Brandon..(I think she has a little crush on him)...one of my fav pics!! She was SOOOO tired! There was lots of time to just hang out and relax around the fire and have a few beers! It sure was nice to just sit around with good friends and good drinks and interesting conversations!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend and I hope you remembered what it is all about.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE VETERANS WHO HAVE SERVED AND THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO SERVE THIS GREAT COUNTRY!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Spring Storms!!!!

WOW....one of my favorite things about living in the Texas Panhandle is the storms. We have some beautiful skies and very pretty storms:
God gives us beautiful things to enjoy everyday and it is sights like this that truly make you realize what an awesome world we live in. I really enjoy watching storm clouds roll in...it is crazy to watch them go from just small "poofs" to these amazing clouds!!
A few more...........

I just wanted to share a few pictures from the other night. I am glad I got to enjoy it with my sister and her family. We had some good laughs that night...(her youngest son is scared to death of "storms") and my sis likes to pick on him about the storms! It is kinda funny but kinda sad too because she was the SAME way when she was younger!! Enjoy!!!

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35

Critters!

WOW...2 posts in one day! I might have some fun with this. Anyways, so Jerald & I really enjoy going out and driving around out in the country looking for "critters". We usually go out to Lake Marvin and we usually end up seeing something. Above is a pic of a few deer that we ran across. We didn't see a whole lot except these deer (we saw them a few times) and a few turkeys. One of the things that I REALLY enjoy doing is taking pictures. I LOVE LOVE my camera and I would love to get into photography some day. I love sunset pics and beautiful scenery! Wildlife is interesting because you never know what you are gonna see!

Anyways....I think I am done for the night! I hope you enjoyed reading this post...I hope to keep up with this often!!! Good night!!!

Blogging

WOW! So I never thought I would be the type of person to blog....don't really think my life is that interesting but a GREAT friend (and fellow blogger) told me she would read it so I thought I would give it a shot! Please give me feedback (good or bad) as I am new to this.

These are the 2 newest members of our family! Sadly enough, we still haven't named them. We just can't seem to come up with the right names for them...any help would be greatly appreciated! They are still pretty wild and don't really want you messing with them but they are getting better. We are becoming a regular farm around here....3 dogs, 2 birds and a husband (HAHA) We do enjoy having animals although sometimes they drive me to drink...especially the husband..I mean dog! LOL We have 2 outside dogs...Sandy is a Black Mouth Curr and Alex is an Australian Shepherd.....our little indoor dog is Dozer who is a Teacup Chihuahua. He thinks that he rules the roost...but he is mistaken...that is MY job! Anyways, Jerald & I will have been married for 5 years this September. We have our ups & downs but in the end....we truly love each other very much. Jerald has a daughter that will be 10 in November. She is a beauty and a really great kid. We have her most weekends and really enjoy the time we have together!

This is my favorite pic of Courtlynn & I...I love that girl like she is my own!!! Sadly enough...I don't think we have any pics of all 3 of us together! Hopefully this summer we will have some family pics taken together! Well I guess I will stop here and hopefully I can keep up with this and post often! Again...PLEASE give me feedback...good or bad! Any help is appreciated!!!
